The soundtrack to my teenage existential meltdowns. And now the soundtrack to my pathetic adult-baby existential meltdowns.

This is easily one of my favorite BE albums as well... though 2005 really wasn't that long ago (and I'm young!). I still don't know why a lot of people dislike this album as much as they do.I mean I "know" why, I just don't GET why.

I always overlooked this album, not because I don't like electronic music, but because I always thought of Bright Eyes as an essentially acoustic band. But upon recent listening, it has become one of my favorites. It's a lot like the way I felt about Sufjan Stevens and Age of Adz. I had to overlook my acoustic expectations and recognize good music where I saw it.
