Indie

The term ‘indie’ is best known as being an abbreviation for the word ‘independent’. This term was used to differentiate between bands that were on a major record label and those that weren’t. It also differentiates between an ‘independent’ sound and type of music and the more typical top-40 sound that was so prevalent during the 1980s. You can't really definate this tag, as it just doesn't fit anymore (Indie is something, well, independent and it's hard to find such music today). For me, it's just music that nobody or only few people know, although more people should know them, which wouldnt make them indie anymore :D
