When I'd first read about these guys I must have had a case of temporary dyslexia, because I would have sworn the band name was "Overkill" River. It still bugs me when I hear someone say "Okkervil", even though that's the correct word.

@prdrums77 totally, it was almost tighter than the album. Which is silly, but seeing the drums live was great just by itself.

The new album is so good live. It totally changed my perception of the album from seeing it as a good one to thinking it may be among their best.

As a huge Okkervil River fanboy, I really think this is there best album since Black Sheep Boy. Every song on Silver Gymnasium is so deceptively catchy.

The Silver Gymnasium is my favorite release of 2013 so far. It reminds me of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." This is a record that I will keep coming back to for a long time.

Silver Gymnasium is okay I guess, I wouldn't call it a car though.

Some were better than others yes, but with every new album I'm overjoyed and it makes me fall in love with the band all over again. Like, nothing could get the smile off my face when I was playing The Silver Gymnasium videogame.

The Silver Gymnasium is exactly what they needed to do. This is such a relaxed album. The songwriting is just perfect, and the tone makes me feel like they would be playing these songs with the same heart and passion regardless of if anyone were even listening. They aren't trying to impress anyone here, they are just enjoying being a band. They have their feet up and are not afraid to take risks and their their energy into every corner of the room. It's just very good. If you can't connect with it the first time through, you might be asking too much from it. This isn't a masterpiece you hang on the wall and stare at, it's a masterpiece you jump in the front seat of and cruise around town.
