Gorillaz is the eponymous debut album by Gorillaz, released in March 2001. It includes the singles “Clint Eastwood”, “19-2000”, “Rock the House” and “Tomorrow Comes Today”. The album reached #3 in the UK, and was an unexpected hit in the U.S., hitting #14 and selling over seven million copies worldwide. Its members include 2D, Murdoc, Russel, and Noodle.
In an introduction to the final album “the fall” 2-D said that the debut album was all Russel Hobbs’ doing.

    this album is garbage. sure there are like two good songs (double bass, clint eastwood) but besides that this is just a fucking let-down. most of the songs are just endlessly repeating themselves with no progression. the album as a whole just has no cohesion whatsoever, the overall sound of the album just makes no sense. urban sounding modern drum beats with tribal like shouting and chanting and then some spanish type song? oh and then there's rock the house. none of the songs fit with eachother. what the fuck is this shit man.

    12 fuckin' years old. Goodness. I remember when the music videos were on all the time... I also remember having a period where I would listen to this album all day long while playing Goldeneye 64, though this was a few years later. All in all, good times. Different times.
