    A lot of these songs sound like loose sketches rather than tight and well-planned (except 'Shoot the Runner', which is fucking taut), but they all work well.

    yah, it took me a lil while to get into this album... the 1st album i liked instantly & couldn't stop listening... but this one, i didn't get into as fast. Then gradually i started listening to it more & more, ya know, just to make sure i wasn't missing something. It also took me a while to warm up to "Doberman", & now it's 1 of my favorite tracks here. "Stuntman" is my favorite from this album by far.

    v I agree with that in general, except that I really like Apnoea and Seek and Destroy. This album is good, but is areally unbalanced.

    Varied quality. We start with Empire, which is easily one of the best tracks. Then we have Shoot the Runner, which is still good. Last Trip is okay, but I find Me Plus One annoying. Sun Rise Light Flies is an okay song between two crappy ones, and might have been a little bit better as track 4. Apnoea sounds rushed and was probably made in 5 minutes. 2 of the best tracks follow: By my Side and Stuntman. Stuntman is especially good. Seek and Destroy and British Legion can really get annoying, especially British Legion (mainly because it's a whole minute longer). The Doberman is probably my favourite Kasabian song. I don't know why, but I always enjoy it more than any other track

    Just picked this album up in a bargain bin (because I liked Me Plus One, and I'm liking what I've heard from the new one too), and it's great! I like the first album when it came out, don't know why this one passed me by...
