Yeah, I prefer the vinyl version, without the vocals, myself. The 1991 CD remix with vocals is okay, but I think the voice is just a little too "lounge lizard" for my taste.

Surprised by all the underrated talk... i actually think it's quite overrated. Filthy Habis, Regyptian Strut, Sleep Dirt & The Ocean is the ultimate Solution are all fantastic tracks, but combined with the Hootchentoot one's, it completely ruin the overall feel of the album for me, never thought he could write downright boring music up intil that point... Everything from Freak Out! up until this were completely flawless in my opinion, every track on every album = Perfection!. but sadly around this time the quality began dropping.

Underrated [2] Regiptian Strut and Ocean Is The Ultimate Solution are one of my favorites of all time perhaps because they are instrumental and 'normal' Zappa songs are all filled with weird and humorous vocals most of the time.

I kind of like the chick vocals. They're a bit much on Flambay, but I think she sounds awesome on Spider of Destiny. Then again, I don't know where to find an entirely instrumental version of Sleep Dirt...

It's perfect if you exclude; Flambay, Spider of Destiny and Time Is Money. Those songs make me sick.
