Four complex musical treats wound around beautiful, intricate poems.

This is simply the best album ever. Epic poetic songwriting, dark (but also humorous at times), intense music in step with the lyrics and in harmony with Hammill's vocal delivery, and one big wholesome feeling as if it's a concept album. The songs might not be directly lyrically connected, but the mood is consistent through the whole album. It's far less experimental than Pawn Hearts, but still has more shifts and fun moments than Still Life, while being closer to the latter in terms of melody, excellently balanced.
