This album doesn't deserve all the critical love nor the fan hate it gets. Nonetheless, I quite enjoyed it with the exception of about 4 tracks. Kind of a slower album than their earlier ones, but still very likeable music if you're in the right mindset.

I agree, they were my favorite band for the first two albums, then everything went way downhill and they became generic as hell

I've been a fan of the Arctic Monkeys for years and I enjoy all of their other albums, but this one ... I simply cannot get into this album. And I find this especially confusing because so many people seem to think this is their best album. [6] This album is so overrated, worst album in Arctic Monkeys' production. I'd love to see british AM back not this american arrogant trash.

It's different to the earlier albums, so it depends what you want out of their music. I fucking love it. Full of groovy riffs and awesome hooks. Nearly every song is fantastic. The lyrics are about unrequited feelings rather than the chavvy mischief of earlier works, which is interesting.

I'm shocked with your hate for this album people. I think it won a lot of new fans for Monkeys with mature sound. It's my favourite since FWN, and exactly what I was waiting for. Somehow I've never seen 12 songs from Humbug or SIAS in top 15. You might dislike this album ofc but saying it's crap is simply funny.
