Melodic death metal

Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of metal which combines the melody of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) with the intensity of death metal. The genre is also known as Gothenburg metal, a reference to the city in Sweden where it originated. Originally the genre combined the harmony style and groove melodies of heavy metal with the harsh thrashing sound and vocals of death metal. Read more…|Edit this Artist photo: Hypocrisy

Check out A Thousand Years Slavery if you like death metal with historical influences, very underrated european band! For people who likes Burning The Masses, Miseration and melodic deathcore overall.

@mibustas So now it's no longer your opinion, it's the obvious? You also stated earlier that saying the bands you liked were average is ridiculous and that darkness and brutality don't fit in music. Who is really bashing the taste of others?

pointing out what? 'MyGrain made the best album last year...best for 2011... ' few coments later -> 'Ha,what can I say to your "arguments",just because some album is listed in some stupid site doesnt make it better, you know?I' i mean.. dude, whats your purpose in this thread?

@mibustas So when you bash someone it's your innocent opinion, but when someone else bashes you it's ignorant flaming? "you can't use proper arguments" All your 'arguments' are accusations.

''Haha,Yeah,Scar Symmetry are better than insomnium and DT,way better'' <- that was you. do i need to worship SS and mygrain for us to end this discussion? my list is good, is plain melodeath, doesnt need bands that borrow melodeath with other genres such as metalcore.

You dudes are just retarded, now I will tell you why - I listen to the bands you like and the bands I think are better,I listen to both, don't say who is good and who is bad,you are the ones saying ss are average, the whole time I have to defend myself, because you can't use proper arguments(started talking about nickelback),and as mercenarion said taste is subjective,I think you got pretty good taste, compared to 90 % of world's population, enough with the being polite thing, you are just trolling, this is not even a discussion...Nobody can say what is good and what is bad, especially in this case,so please shut the fuck up and lets stop spamming the shoutbox?!All the "arguments" you use against me can be easily applied for yourself too, since our taste differs...and that's the most natural thing...

mibustas was claiming that im not open minded for not listenning to what he likes, when i actually did and he doesnt even know it. so "being open minded =/= listenning to shit music" aplies in this situation

I think it was meant in the sense that many who claim to be open-minded just try to defend their shitty taste, and really aren't more open-minded than anyone else. That's at least what I interpretated it as when i quoted it.

"being open minded =/= listenning to shit music" Fuckwat? That's completely irrelevant. In regards to music, being open-minded would be giving anything a chance despite your opinions on said genre. The only genre where this doesn't apply is crunkcore since it's all shit.
