The Jester Race = Colony > Come Clarity = Whoracle > Reroute to Remain > Clayman > Lunar Strain = Subterranean > Soundtrack > Sounds of a Playground Fading > A Sense of Purpose > Siren Charms IMO. RtR and CC get too much hate, the band changed but when looked at from a more independent view RtR had some of their catchiest melodies and what was a very fresh sound back then (shortly before being severly overdone). And CC was a kickass metalcore album that seemed like a revitalization of the band. After CC however they lost their way HARD. ASoP was a cringeworthy edgefest covering a few decent riffs, SoaPF was mostly boring, and SC shows how confused the band is at this moment.

They were never popular in their melodeath days. 2000s is when they peaked in their popularity.

I stopped whining around the time album after come clarity came out. It is kinda sad to look at my charts, see In Flames at first place with more than 10k plays, and think how its been more than 10 years since they put out a really really good record. I guess my taste and their taste kinda went different ways after SOTYE. It always looked to me like RTR was experiment, SOTYE a step back in old direction, but then they just went ahead with the new style. And thats ok, no one can delete old songs that i very much like. The fact is that they are not as big as they were before. And they will not be with this kind of music. I even think they never will be big again, because even if they do album with old style, it will feel dated. Other bands came, learned from In Flames fiasco and did music that is progression of their old style.
