About This Track

‘All Star’ is one of the most successful singles of the band Smash Mouth. It was featured on their second album ‘Astro Lounge’ and it was released in 1999. The song was featured in several movies. The perhaps best known is its appearance in the opening credits of the animation movie ‘Shrek’.

The song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, 24 in the UK single chart and in The Netherlands ‘All Star’ reached number 57 in the single chart.

Lead singer Steven Harwell has said that his first instinct after recording the song was not to release it as a single, it was to sell it to advertisers.
