According to the Blunderbuss Songfacts, this was White's first #1 album in the US - he missed the top of the Billboard 200 with his other bands the White Stripes, the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather. White's previous highest chart placing had been the White Stripes' 2007 album Icky Thump, which peaked at #2.

I've got a serious problem with this one. I love Jack, but I don't really feel the thing that he did on this one. To be honest - for me it is like.. nothing special? I mean, this guy is a freaking talented creature,I thought that he'll kick my ass up to space with his solo stuff, and he records something like this - just another garage-southern album. Maybe it'll grow on me after some time - I gave it a couple of chances in my earphones since it was released, maybe it needs some more.

with all this mainstream tripe all over the radios it is so refreshing to hear artists still making the music they love [2]
