For the American southern gospel singer, songwriter and guitarist see Jacky Jack White

Jack White (born John Anthony Gillis on July 9, 1975 in Detroit), American rock musician, producer, and actor. He is best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist of the rock duo The White Stripes and more recently guitarist and vocalist of The Raconteurs, and drummer and vocalist for the band The Dead Weather. White produced Loretta Lynn’s Van Lear Rose in 2004, which won them a Grammy for best country album, and an additional Grammy for best country collaboration for the song Portland Oregon.

The Love Interruption Songfacts reports that his debut solo single, Love Interruption, was made available on January 30, 2012 at White’s pay-to-join club Vault and at Jackwhiteiii.com. A week later, it was released on the singer’s preferred format, vinyl. It was produced by the ex White Stripe and recorded at his own Third Man Studio in Nashville along with its exclusive non-LP B-side Machine Gun Silhouette.

His blaring guitar solos and ability to pull sound from the simplest of “instruments” are his greatest strengths along with his desire to partner with female vocalists.

He currently resides in Tennessee. He announced his divorce in 2011 from wife since 2005, fellow musician Karen Elson, and they have two children. Third Man Records (White’s label) and Elson’s clothing boutique are also located there.

Ino it's just everyone's personal tastes but I would have preferred something like Fly Farm Blues. THAT is what he is good at.

Well, i'm glad he's releasing an album but I don't really like the song. What the hell is up with that other voice in the right speaker? SO ANNOYING!!!! If this was on a White Stripes album it would be a skipable track. If this was on a Dead Weather album I would have lost all faith but i'm still hopeful for this album regardless.

You're absolutely right on one thing though, everyone's allowed to love it or hate it. I'm just saying, if you're not a fan of the song, there are better ways to spend your time and energy rather than making a big deal out of it on the internet. Just don't stress yourself out!

Defense? At what point did I defend the song, my dear fellow user? I never even gave my opinion on it! You're the one talking about how harmonies should have been this and that, and how the mixing should have been done differently, as if the song had to live up to your personal standards. I was just mildly amused at how upset people can get over a single song, a song which in the end is not really something we haven't heard from Jack before. If you don't like it, you don't need to overreact and make a tragedy out of it... it's really a waste of energy and will only accentuate your wrinkles. You don't even have to check out the album when it comes out if it really puts you off *that* much. Although we know you will, so why even complain? And about it being a single; many times I've found albums to be way better than their lead single made them out to be. But maybe that's just me.

It's funnier how so many people are leaping to the defence of a song, a completely subjective thing that people are either going to like or dislike, as if they themselves created it. People are allowed to dislike a song by an artist they like, in fact it's perfectly normal. Also "You hate it so much that you won't even listen to the rest of the songs?" is that not the point of a single? Granted this is slightly different because we know Jack White, but isn't a single meant to be a taster of an album to make you want more? I certainly didn't hear Ke$ha's big single, hate that and then proceed to listen to her album.

It's almost funny how people get their panties up in a bunch over a song that they perceive to be artistically different to what Jack has done before. 'A shadow of what he used to be'? There's plenty of old stuff from the Stripes that doesn't sound too different from Love Interruption. Even if it were something completely different for Jack, so what? It's one song from one album. You hate it so much that you won't even listen to the rest of the songs? That's fine too, no-one's forcing you to.

Maybe I should add that Jack White and the White Stripes are the reason I got into music *properly* all those years ago... If you take one look at the stuff I listen to, I obviously don't care much for "perfect", manipulated voices that seem to dominate the charts these days, perhaps the voices alone would sound better, but I don't think they work together as a harmony.

Anyone who can appreciate honest music would have to have nothing but respect for Jack White. The man is an excellent musician and everything he creates musically is always going to have that trademark sound of what comes from his very soul. I am usually not a fan-girl for any single artist. But, hey, Jack White is awesome (and very good-looking). He has got a lot of support from people like me who always appreciates to hear something new from him in the way of music.

I can't wait to hear the new solo album. As far as personal opinions/evaluations go, I was simply floored when I took my first listen to the song Love Interruption: I think it sounds perfect just as it is. The female voice--which I am so glad does NOT sound like some digitally-corrected popstar want-to-be--adds an extra depth of soulfulness to the song. The song is beautifully raw and full of heart. I think that anyone can say whatever they like over the internet, and they can argue six ways to Sunday about what their own ideas of what the perfect female vocals should sound like. But, really. Does this song strike you as an attempt at sounding like the newest single from *drop-famous-popstar-name-here*? What the song sounds like to me is an honestly written/honestly created melody by a musician who is true to his roots and who has made his music his own way.

As I said to you before, Sallyella, I think we're the only people that can hear that horrible, horrible harmony. If that was lower down in the mix, the song would be just okay, but the sped up vocal/ terrible warbling singer (whichever it is) brings it down to being a bad sounding song. But, hey, who's entitled to an opinion on the Internet, right?!

And yes, it's totally different from my favourite Jack's tracks, which are obviously Fly Farm Blues and bluesy ones from The Dead Weather. But I have the feeling of sharing the same music taste as Jack's, I simply adore his folk/country songs equally as "punky" tracks by The White Stripes. He is just a pure brilliant genious.

What are you talking about? Love Interruption... I'm listening to this song looped on youtube for 10 hours now and I certainly won't stop soon. This is one of the best "love" songs I've ever heard (i mean not the romance ones, but talking-about-love ones). It made me cry and smile past those hours. Am I crazy? God, maybe I am, but Jack's music totally deserved my madness.

Love Interruption... A shadow of what Jack used to be. I was so excited by the prospect of a solo album, as I loved his Bond song and Fly Farm Blues, and the stuff he did for Cold Mountain... As a solo artist he is capable of SO. MUCH. MORE. than THIS. I don't think I shall be purchasing Blunderbuss. So incredibly disappointing :'(
