Blessthefall is a band from Phoenix, Arizona. In the two-year span since blessthefall’s album His Last Walk was released, the band has undergone some internal repairs that could have sunk any other band on the rise. Not so for the Phoenix five-piece, who’ve learned that a kink in the gears isn’t enough to stop a band this strong for good.

Formed in 2004 by a group of higher-thinking high-schoolers who wanted their peers to find meaning and camaraderie in their music, Blessthefall was intent on making their metalcore blend a different breed that people would remember. After several gigs in the area, more than just the locals began to notice. Later, after a 3-song EP made the rounds at shows and landed in label hands, this buzzy and burgeoning band were signed to Warner subsidiary Science Records and making their first full-length.

“Everyone has their first shows that consist of just the bands, and your parents, if you’re lucky,” reflects guitarist Eric Lambert. “Things picked up rather quickly, though. We started selling out hometown shows, then started touring, and, oddly enough, we had fans outside of Arizona. It was small shows, but the fans we met are still coming to every show and are the best people ever.”

Man, I used to love this band. I kinda grew away from them though, and after listening to Hollow Bodies that sealed the deal. But anyways, His Last Walk and Awakening were my favorites.

the production on His Last Walk is untouchable compared to their other work. It has a really distinct atmosphere.

i have no idea why so many people dislike his last walk. it was a pretty solid album that had quality while transcending verse/chorus structure. my least favorite btf album would have to be awakening [2]

Yeah I know Joey Sturgis and most other producers don't actually have that much of an effect on a band's songwriting but I've noticed that most bands tend to get a bit chuggy on their first album with Sturgis and then expand a bit the second time

@BrootalK1d: Most bands (not all) seem to get a better album out of Joey Sturgis a second time around if that brings your hopes back up at all. For The Fallen Dreams, I See Stars, hell even Attack Attack's second album are pretty good examples of what I mean

I love all their albums, especially His Last Walk, except for Hollow Bodies. I think blessthefall lost the sound that made them unique plus they don't use their original logo anymore (I really love it).

Tbh I agree with Awakening being the weakest album but I still think it's a great one. I'm Bad News In The Best Way, Bones Crew, Don't Say Goodbye, and Meet Me At The Gates are some of my favorite BTF songs.

@iPowers: Most of the hatred for Hollow Bodies stems from the Joey Sturgis production job. I don't mind it because I honestly think he's great at what he does and the songs on Hollow Bodies are still very solid.

+ i like it when btf uses sounds like the choir in till the death of me .. reminds me of his last walk ... or buried in these walls is like an interlude song like with eyes wide shut... they should use more of this melodic stuff... and beau has really good singing melody ideas... it all fits perfectly....

ipowers: true... awakening was their weakest album if u ask me... my favorite album is his last walk... it will always be but they re still my favorite band because they didnt change like the most bands do.... bands like capture the crown or crown the empire had like one good cd or couple of songs and thats it... and alesana is a really good band too... one of my faves because they didnt change it all either...

I don't get why so many people hate Hollow Bodies. It's so intense compared to the other albums and they still sound original. They're one of a few bands that haven't lost their sound over the years.

I love His Last Walk. It was one of the first metalcore albums I remember getting really into back in 2007. It still has solid jamz.
