Pop-punk

Pop punk is a subgenre of pop rock with a punk rock volume and distortion, deep bass lines, electric guitars playing power chords and bar chords and energetic and often catchy drum beats. The music is known to sound very happy and cheerful usually and to be very catchy often. It can be called the hybrid of pop and punk. Vote4cake, listen to blink's first 3 albums (Buddha, Cheshire Cat & Dude Ranch) and you'll understand why blink is tagged as pop-punk. You are judging them on songs like All the small things and I Miss You etc. I'll help you a little: - Touchdown Boy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SdIkI_GHCU - Toast & Bananas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK9ZlTtd7tg&feature=related But you're right about the other bands here. Lots of bands here are poppier than All the small things from blink-182.. I'd love to see oldschool poppunk bands like Descendents, Screeching Weasel, The Vandals, Ramones, The Queers, The Lillingtons and nowadays Teenage Bottlerocket on this list. But blink is definitely worth being here. ;-)
