Emo

Emo is a style of rock music typically characterized by melodic musicianship and expressive, often confessional lyrics. It originated in the mid-1980s hardcore punk movement of Washington, D.C., where it was known as “emotional hardcore” or “emocore” and pioneered by bands such as Rites of Spring and Embrace. AloPunk I agree because there's so many different styles of emo. You have the original DC sound, the midwestern/twinkly sound, the post-hardcore leaning sound, the pop punk leaning sound, etc.

This tag has been so confused, from the emotive hardcore to the indie emo to anything shitty pop metal band considered emotional.

v Haha at Emo being a made up genre. I hope you're still in high school or new to music. Otherwise that's just embarrassing.

Why the hell do you guys make up a word for a non-existing genre and then use it to tag bands that don't even fit in the non-existing genre you made up? Either don't call post-hardcore bands "emo" or don't call pop-punk bands "emo"!! Since you invented the "emo" tag stupidly, at least be coherent with it, don't use it stupidly also!

the trouble with these bands they are so good but because most emo bands suffer High Oeastorgen Syndrome (H.O.S) the "men" bicker and argue about their ex girlfriends and not making enough millions of currency that pretty much every emo band has gone into musical bankruptcy after the 3rd album, generally speaking.
