New music? What counts as new? Well, a big staple of my listening this summer was taken up with Jaymay - a rather engaging singer/songwriter (isn't that a silly description when you think it through?) from Noo Yoik. Caught her on Jens Lekman's tour in May. Jens was quite loveable, if looking somewhat tired. I've also been going through a bit of a Los Campesinos! fixation. I find them engagingly brattish. My Year In Lists makes me smile. To veer into the folk thing for a few, Serious Sam Barrett is well worth a listen. Caught him live and he's got passion about him. I also forecast that people will be doing a lot of talking about Rod Thomas soon. His next single, Same Old Lines, has a very likeable video, and he's been leading singalong choruses all summer. The lad deserves a break. Exactly 1000 characters used up here. Over and out.

Actually, I've just found your David Ford set on flickr. Nice shots. He's a photogenic performer, isn't he? Saw his first night of that tour in York. That was an odd night...

Good. I used to go to this record shop years back and I had a thing for the girl behind the counter. I used to dread buying records and feeling her disdain burning holes in me as I passed her my obviously-not-good-enough purchases. I'm not scarred or anything, mind.

This isn't going to turn into one of these overly critical friendships, is it?
