Rhythm and blues is a term describing popular African American music that originated in the 1940s. The term was originally used by record companies to describe recordings marketed predominantly to urban African Americans, at a time when “urbane, rocking, jazz based music with a heavy, insistent beat” was becoming more popular. Brandy is an epitome of great R'n'B vocals. Beyonce is more crossover and eclectic, though I adore her, Brandy is still the classical 90s R'n'B voice and sound to me.

@Goody-Jo Yes, because genres never change/develop and stay the same (the way you like them) for eternity, right? Wake the fuck up and stop bitching. Just becasue you don't like some artist doesn't mean it's not the genre it's under. Yes, many of these artist also make pop or more pop influenced rnb, but it doesn't change a fucking thing. It can still be rnb. And come on. Your library isn't that exotic so that you could shit on some artists just because you don't like the music they're doing. I'm not a fan of rnb especially, but you are fighting facts and logic and it pisses me off.

none of this shit will ever be RnB. It's a disgrace for all Rhythm and Blues artists that ever existed. All music with this tag is just pop
