Futurepop

Futurepop is an electronic dance music genre that incorporates influences from synthpop (primarily in the song structures and melodies), trance (grandiose, arpeggiated, fast-paced synthesizer beats), and EBM/Industrial (mostly in the harsh vocal style and worldviews presented in their lyrics). There must be something going seriously wrong with you if you are not able to see and hear the huge differences between Lady Gaga and futurepop.[2]

Lady Gaga tagged herself as Futurepop because she considers herself as the Future of POP music,it has nothing to do with this Genre. Futurepop is entirely different to Pop and even Synthpop, Lyrics based on Science Fiction,Cyberpunk,Dystopia,Transhumanism and others,so i fully agree with KaiserCaesar.

hey, is there anyone in Guatemala interested in this type of music? I discovered these artists going to a future pop party in Mexico and have not stopped listening to VNV, APOP, IoC, etc.

"The is never a clear dividing line between any two genres. The line between rock and metal is blurred, between folk and folk-rock, and here we're talking about such broad sweeping genres that such a line ought to be easier to spot. But it doesn't exist. Genres evolve and change, then elements of the old form are brought back or put in a different genre, and bingo, a new genre is born. Then someone revives a "dead" genre or plays a song that would have been termed that way before and no-one knows how to classify it in relation to the current system where terms has changed their meanings somewhat, so they invent a new term for it. And so on. The whole systems of genres is so fluid and dynamic, you can never expect a clear dividing line, or even a hard and fast definition. Its an attempt to capture the feel, atmosphere and sometime techniques of the music more than anything else, and for that, it does quite well. Also, only just got seriously into this genre: I love it. :D " - Niedfaru

I consider this type of music the Underground scene. Since people are currently into modern mainstream music. I've been in this type of music for a long time. Has been part of me and I don't regret it.. :) You should also consider Cyber Metal like Fear Factory, New Project, Illidiance, etc. cheers

If Lady Gaga is a Futurepop act, would that mean that the Black Eyed Peas are also a Futurepop act? * They will need to change drastically most of their lyrics if not all. * They will obviously need to stop making a more of a dysfunctional world. Their music is based with the purpose of being a hit single. And lack what really needs to be expressed. Futurepop are the guys who relate the Future. [They mostly consist of Synths, Clean Vocals, Science, Astronomy, Intellectual] *Syrian, State of the Union, Culture Kultur, VNV Nation, etc Aggrotech acts are the guys that seek negative intentions or dislike humanity. [Harsh vocals, Violence, Evil-Good Philosophies] *Grendel, Hocico, Amduscia, etc Cyberpunk are the rebels and are the expression of both Aggrotech and Futurepop. [Guitars, rebel attitude] * Dope Stars Inc.(Old/New) Latexxx Teens, Systemshock Cyber-Industrial *Angelspit, XP8, Dope Stars Inc. (Old school) But I dislike organizing them since they express the same.

I like some songs from Lady Gaga, and because I've heard her music. I can tell you that her music isn't Futurepop, If she wants to say it..well it's obvious that she isn't. As T0dk0n stated: "Dystopia, Final Frontier, Transhumanism, Alien-E.T. Interaction, Psychology, Religious-Ecological conflicts" This type of bands express their music in an Intellectual way. They are the guys of a dysfunctional world. People who are just like you but different to the eyes of the people who call themselves "Normal".. Most of them come from a Goth-oriented background + Lyrics about a near future, far future or current World + They relate what's going on in that particular world. + They express what needs to be done. + They are usually dark oriented but with positive feedback/aura + Most of them lived a depressive and isolated life that have made them to mature enough to analyze/predict a future world with our today's negativeness. Those are Futurepop bands

It's a marketing strategy. They're flooding the Internet with that shit on purpose. The more you talk about her the more publicity she gets. So stop doing it. Let it be and forget it.

naw, she's way too upbeat in both vocals and actual instrumentation. Futurepop usually has lyrics about dystopia, the final frontier, deteriorating conditions, futurism, transhumanism, etc future stuffs. The instrumentals usually have a dark, sinister undertone under the groovy EBM and techno synthesizers.
