Sheffield, England (2006 – present)

Slow Club are a 2-piece band from Sheffield, England comprising Charles Watson (vocals and guitar) and Rebecca Taylor (vocals, guitar, and percussion).

They formed in 2006, and are noted for their quirky lyrics, their variety of percussion instruments, and great vocal interplay. The first two lines in the chorus from "Number One" remind me of the chorus from "Rodeo Town" by The Kills.

The new album is undeniably one of the best albums of this year, and maybe on my TOP 5 best of this year. No fillers, just stunningly produced tracks to be enjoyed and repeated over and over again. Strong BNM on this one.
