ORANGE RANGE, オレンジレンジ, is one of the most popular rock/pop/R&B groups from Okinawa, Japan. They were formed in 2001 by NAOTO and KATCHAN. They were soon joined by YOH, HIROKI, RYO (YOH’s younger brother), and finally YAMATO.
They’ve released nearly 10 full albums (Including the Remix album Squeezed), 1 mini-album and over 20 singles since 2002. Their second album musiQ was their breakthrough hit, and their single Hana sold over 661,000 copies in less than two months. Their music has also been used in a few anime (Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass R2) and in few TV shows (including the American movie, Fantastic Four), and the film Train Man （電車男）.
In July 2005, right in the verge of releasing their 12th single, Kizuna, Katchan (founding member and drummer of the band) left the band due to a Tendonitis in his pinky finger and also because of creative differences. His place has yet to be filled.

I agree they should do more stuff from 1st Contact. It's their best album. All of their albums are great. Each album is unique and has something great about each. World World World is a great album. It's not their best album, but I certainly found the album enjoyable. Sales have been down because they are not making all their albums and songs like musiQ or something that just sells well. If Orange Range just did the same thing over and over again they would lose a lot more fans after a while. People would get sick of that. They want to try something new and make the music they enjoy. They still have tons of fans. A lot of American fans will probably be turned off from World World World, because most Americans only like a one or two different kinds of music. The reason I like Orange Range so much is because they have such a wide range of music. I love it all. If you do not like this album give them another chance. I'm sure they will be still be around.

World World World is a new approach, ya I don't like half the album, but it goes without saying that it's the same with 1st contact and musiq. However WWW is just a world album. I've seen more bands producing world albums. For example asian kung fu generation and snow patrol. The older albums are more original, but lack variety. However because it feels the same between good/ classic songs it gets praise and sells well. Orange Range(self titled album), Panic Fury(previous one) and WWW(the latest not the last I hope) are albums with more variety. However OR has less catchy/ good songs than panic fury. But it's taste to decide the factor not quality. I mean sales have nothing to do with been shitty. We're comparing albums from long ago with recent ones. PF has good sales, but it's bad compared to the older ones. WWW was released during summer and WWW is the worst album yet, but saying sales are bad.... is like saying that a C is a bad grade.
