HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR are a Japanese rock group signed to Spice Records, until 2008 they were signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan.

They were formerly made up of six members; Mākii (lead vocals), Yusuke (vocals), Kazuto (guitar), MEG (guitar), mACKAz (bass), and SASSY (drums).

This has been preceded by the news of Mākii (lead vocals) departure from the band. A new member, HALCA (vocals), has been added to the HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR line-up.

Notably, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR have often been referred to as the “sister-band” of popular Japanese band Orange Range. This is attributed to the fact that both come from the Okinawa area of Japan and both bands were discovered in the same music festival. The band started with members Meg and Sassy working on a cover of a Metallica song, in time they were joined by Yusuke, Kazuto and mACKAz. At this time the band was known as Anti-Nobunaga.

In the summer of 2003, at a yearly music festival in Okinawa, the band played for a sold out crowd. The response was tremendous and made many major record labels take notice. Because of this, the group was able to produce an album titled “Okinawa 2003”. At another festival known as the “Music Picnic Festival” vocalist Maki also grabbed the attention of record labels. Eventually Maki met the band through their respective labels and joined them.

I become the happiest person in the world if they come to Spain but they only come to US for the moment. So that's I went to saw them in Japan (after saw mACKAz with LM.C in Barcelona he becames like a drug for me XD and I want to see all the band) and can saw HALCA's first live in Tokyo. Now I think that she's the perfect vocalist for H&MC. She bring back H&MC their real style, the style who they like. Enjoy them friend 'hunter'!! ^_^

yeah, I agree - I'd say that swamp man is their best album and HALCA's an awesome vocalist and their new direction is definitely more my style but there does seem to be something missing: songs like RUN*RUN*RUN and a shape of love remind me of how much my love of HandMC comes from their ability to make me smile :3 I hope the next album will be a bit more varied.. swamp man kind of reminds me of Gou on Progressive in that sense, so hopefully another San is to come! ^o^/~~
