Givers are an indie pop group from Lafayette, Louisiana. The band is made up of vocalist and percussionist Tiffany Lamson, vocalist and guitarist Taylor Guarisco, drummer and vocalist Kirby Campbell, bassist and guitarist Josh LeBlanc, and flautist, saxophonist, and keyboardist Nick Stephan.

Givers was formed in Lafayette, LA by Tiffany Lamson, Taylor Guarisco, Kirby Campbell, Josh LeBlanc, William Henderson, and Nick Stephan. The members of Givers had previously been active in the Cajun and zydeco music communities in Louisiana, playing with acts such as Feufollett and Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience. Lamson was previously a member of New Orleans indie rock band Rotary Downs, and continues to contribute part-time.

On February 1, 2011, Givers signed to Glassnote Records. In March 2011, the band was named one of TIME’s “Ten Acts That Rocked South by Southwest”. On August 20, 2010, the popular music site Stereogum featured Givers as a Band To Watch.

In 2011, Henderson was replaced by Nick Stephan,[3] and the group released their first full length album In Light on June 7. On June 13, they performed “Up Up Up”, the first single off the album, on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Their song “Up Up Up” is featured on EA Sports’ FIFA 12 and in the US Television Series Glee, Season 3, Episode 15 - “Big Brother” (performed by Kevin McHale and Dianna Agron), broadcast on April 10, 2012.

The Givers are set to perform at the music festival COACHELLA in 2012,Lollapalooza in 2012 as well as the New Orleans Jazz Fest.

I remember when these guys first formed and were only known by everybody around the Lafayette area, and now they've gotten more well known which is pretty awesome. Now if only they would release a new album...

They really need a new album and tour that had some major momentum after in light and they need to continue that with some new material like at least an EP or something [2]

i hate when people say the album is over produced. A lot of production does not necessarily mean "over produced", especially when the production is so well done and works so well for their style of music. I just recently listened to the EP for the first time, much less production on it, and while it's good it just sounds like they werent reaching their full potential, like the songs were not all the way there. The production on "In Light" is absolutely fantastic and just adds to the already brilliant songs and just gives them so many layers and ambiance. It has given this band a very specific sound, similar to Animal Collective but more melody-concentrated and more pop oriented. VIva GIVERS i am so ready for some new stuff.

it's a pity that the album is so over-produced, i'll take their live performances over their recordings anyday. i mean they started as a jam band, really wish the record would reflect that.
