Biography

Cracker is an American band fronted by Camper Van Beethoven singer David Lowery, with guitarist Johnny Hickman. They are best known for their hit songs “Low” and “Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)”.

The band’s website once noted Cracker as “The only band to ever open for both The Grateful Dead and The Ramones,” a unique distinction which is also indicative of the band’s sound and style. Cracker comfortably mixes influences and sounds ranging from classic music, , and into their brand of “” style rock.

Lowery and Hickman are inalterable constants. The band continues to tour (as a full band, and also as the “Cracker acoustic duo”).

Take me down to the infirmary put a damp cloth on my forehead...the morphine & the whiskey won't help won't my soul but at least I won't have to sleep or drink alone..listened to that almost every day in rehab, got me through all those dopesick nights. Cracker is a musical power higher than myself no doubt about it

@argus You really need to get Greenland, the S/T first album, and Golden Age... That will give you a definitive overview of Cracker... you really can't go wrong, though... every album is worth having....
