Venture into Scandinavia and you soon find that the lines between metal and folk become increasingly blurred. Two genres of markedly different forms, not just musically but also aesthetically, coincide for a wholly different take on metal than what is generally expected.

Interest in traditional Norse folk music alongside Norwegian art and metal has proliferated outside of the country of origin in recent years, with acts like Amon Amarth achieving widespread success in countries like the UK.

Skuggsjá is a 4 night event showcasing all of the above and will feature Enslaved and Wardruna performing the work of Skuggsjá on 19th March 2016 at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire. Enslaved will be celebrating a personal anniversary of their 25th year, whilst Wardruna are one of today's most prominent purveyors of Norse and Nordic musical culture and heritage.

Join Last.fm there as we take in a whole host of events celebrating Skuggsjá including Enslaved performing at the London Dome and the Camden Underworld, talks, workshops and more.
