Your 'About me' section was interesting to read. In fact, the 'happy bunny' tag made me laugh while I was listening to depressive black metal! Btw, is this your cat being tormented in your avatar?

Everyone go listen to the Lantlos - Agape instrumental demo version of the album. It's not better but the instrumentals are definitely more interesting, and raw.

About Me

Please take these charts with a grain of sand... Nowadays I mostly do not listen on my computer or phone. I listen to my iPod 5th-Gen in the car for at least an hour daily, and a few vinyls per week - both of which do not scrobble. However, I have started listening to my "mix" radio at work, which scrobbles.

I love recommending people new music, so just look at my charts or ask me about a specific genre. My music-listening roots are in power metal but I have since branched out to basically anything (provided it's good :D). Including but not limited to: post-black metal, shoegaze, hardcore/deathcore/emo, melodic rock/aor, male-fronted gothic metal, and even a little hip-hop and country.

If you have something you think I would like please shoutbox me! I don't get on here as often as I used to so don't feel offended if I don't respond for a while. :)

In the meantime, check out my blogspot with music reviews and previews. Or kill time by looking at my old "about me" below.

I guess I've always felt that we were one person and that you've allowed me to be our spokesman, but until this time of my greatest peril the truth was perhaps slightly hidden. It is hidden no more.
Together we' shall face the foe and live on to climb higher mountains and explore greater magic. Together we cannot fail. Please accept my never ending love and dedication to you all.
So it is written, and so it shall be.
MAGIC,
FROM RONNIE JAMES DIO
- 12/20/2009

Apologies for tracks like "raw_063" that is from my phone, the built in media player does not sort out sound effects from the game "Let's Golf" from music. And last.fm scrobbles even though they are only 1 second in length!

Before I leave the house I swallow all my change so when I get hassled for hand outs I can pull down my pants & crap it into there palms

I'm starting to think I should do something more with my life rather than the 9-5 grind I am headed towards now. Any ideas?

My epic tag - Happy Bunny Hopping Through the Field Metal

My other epic tag - Necrophilic Abominations of Unholy Ostriches

My dream band (more or less):
Mark Boals (Vocals) (Royal Hunt)
Captain Kirk Douglas (Guitar) (The Roots)
Billy Sheehan (Bass) (Mr. Big)
Keith Emerson (Keyboards) (Emerson Lake and Palmer)
Dennis Chambers (Drums) (Niacin)

I always do MY thing. I don't believe in vocals where singers are just puppets of other people. That makes very static and unconvincing vocals for my ears. The singer always has to be himself. If someone wants me to sing a song and I say yes to it, it gets “kiskelized.”
- Michael Kiske

My favorite vocalists (Their major bands in parentheses):

1. Ronnie James Dio (RIP 7:45AM 05/16/2010) (Ronnie and the Red Caps (1958), Ronnie Dio and the Prophets (1960-1965), The Electric Elves (1967), The Elves (1968-1971), Elf (1972-1975), Rainbow (1975-1977), Black Sabbath (1980-1982), Dio (1983-1990), Black Sabbath (1992-1993), Dio (1993-2005), Heaven & Hell (2007-2009))

2. Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Ring of Fire, Royal Hunt, The Codex, …)

3. Michael Kiske (Helloween, Place Vendome, Kiske/Somerville, Unisonic, …)

4. Eric Martin (Mr. Big)

5. Nils Patrik Johansson (Space Odyssey, Wuthering Heights, Astral Doors, Lion’s Share)

6. Carlos Zema (Heavens Guardian, Vougan)

7. Jasper Steverlinck (Arid, Guilt Machine (yet another Ayreon side project))

8. David Readman (Adagio (2000-2004), Pink Cream 69, Andersen - Laine - Readman)

9. Gus Monsanto (Adagio (2004-2008)(Ironic, right?), Revolution Renaissance, Takara)

10. Kevin Matisyn (Ariel's Dream (1998), Tcheshire (2000), Matisyn Acoustic Band (2003), Evans Blue (2005-2007), Parabelle (2008-))

11. Pekka Ansio Heino (Brother Firetribe, Leverage)

12. Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen (1984-1986), W.E.T., Talisman, ...)

13. Jorn (Masterplan, Allen-Lande...)

People are like sheep just walking along, they have no idea what's going on in this world we live in!! We are letting stuff just happen to us instead of making it happen. I try to keep going where there doesn't seem to be a road. I try to make it despite the flood coming against me.
- ElTigre77

I am very anti-"When artists get rich they don't care about their fans anymore, so they do like 10 tour dates a year only in Europe, and have 4+ year gaps in album releases. They forget why they started making music - for the love of music." I'll make a group about it eventually. Examples:
Metallica
Blind Guardian
Arch Enemy
Linkin Park
Kamelot
...

Whats Wrong with this world?! Why you idiots don't realize that we are going to the end of the world. It's bad about us. Everyone knows that! But do you know the real reasons?! Economy crisis?! Global Warming?! You don't know a sh*t!! You don't know anything! Medias are manipulating you! You are Zombies!! F*ck off.. Guess you're thinking right know "what the f*ck does this Emo want from me?!". I'll tell you. I want you to be humans. I want you to be alive. I want you to be free. I want you to go on the streets and fight for your rights!
Wake up! GET ANGRY!!!!

I've wished last.fm had this feature for years. You'll notice bands with all long songs like Summoning, are much higher in ACTUAL PLAYTIME than number of plays (Click "Overall" to the left). No idea why last.fm never implemented this feature, but here it is. Click to get your own.

Useful stuff:

Firefox (Internet Explorer alternative)
GreaseMonkey (needed for the following script)
Last.fm Metal Archives Script (adds a small M by artist names which performs a metal-archives.com search)

Blip.fm - basically listen to anything that exists on the internet, audio, video or otherwise, as a song and scrobble them to last.fm, and post songs everywhere and who knows what else. If I can listen to something as unknown as Heaven's Guardian on it, I'm happy.

AudioSurf - Ride your music!!!

Songbird (iTunes alternative. Currently has a whacked Windows Explorer file management system, and it's a bit bloated and slow, but I have hope for it)

Trillian Astra (AIM, Windows Live, Yahoo alternatives, which also has integrated Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc. I heard they are also developing an add-on which will do your laundry for you.)

FoxIt Reader (Adobe Acrobat/PDF Reader alternative, freeware with really nice features like tabs when multiple files are open.)

BandLogos, aka ex-MetalAd

Anyone know a good program to convert .avi or a bunch of .png's to .gif? I've made one (not my avatar now) but its too slow and blurry. But I just cannot find anything that works right and I don't want to go through the trouble of getting and learning some massive photo editing software (photoshop, etc) just for one little conversion.

Think Helloween invented Power Metal? Think again. Bodine, Ayreon-creator's first band, created this gem in 1982, 2 years before Helloween's "Oernst Of Life".
Bodine - Rock Machine

Austere - Just for a Moment...

AEP is a measure of how diverse your music tastes are, based on the top 50 artists in your Last.fm profile. It was invented by C26000. AEP is a number, usually below 5. Roughly speaking, if it is greater than 4 you have very diverse taste in music, if it greater than 3 then you have fairly diverse taste in music. At the other end of the scale, if it is less that 0, you are probably an obsessive fan of your top artist.
