New Rave

New Rave (sometimes labelled Nu Rave or Neu Rave), is a term applied to several types of music that go from fusing elements of new wave / disco / indie rock to techno / hip-house / breakbeat electro. Although closer in style to Grebo the genre has connotations of being a ‘new’ version of ‘rave’, as well as being a corruption of the term ‘new wave’. why is everybody always complaining about 'new rave'? Klaxons and Late of the Pier are two of my favourite bands, but I would'nt describe them as british indie rock(á la Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, Franz). So how would you label those bands? I call them new rave, but people claim that's not an existing genre.
