Gay

In the English language, “gay” is an adjective that in modern usage refers to homosexuality. In earlier and in literary usage, the word means “carefree,” “happy,” or “bright and showy.” From the 1890s, it had begun to carry a connotation of promiscuity, as in a “gay house” referring to a brothel. The related tags say a lot of bad things about Last.FM's users :/ [2] ... and I don't understand why this tag is necessary, since the sexual orientation of an artist doesn't affect their music any more than their race or hair color does. I mean, "For Your Entertainment" is apparently tagged as this most frequently, and it's about bdsm rather than homosexuality.
