Deathcore

Deathcore is an amalgamation of two musical styles: metalcore and death metal. Deathcore is heavily influenced by modern death metal in its speed, heaviness, and approach to chromatic, heavily palm muted riffing and dissonance. Traditional growls, and screaming are prevalent, and sometimes metalcore yelling or shouting vocals are included. Sometimes “pig squeals” are included. I personally really like melodeath to be very atmospheric like Insomnium, In Mourning, Omnium Gatherum etc. // @l_Solution45_l Definitely check out Slice The Cake, Despised Icon, Conducting From The Grave, All Shall Perish are some good starting points if you want to get into deathcore.

well when you listen to melodeath like Sonic Syndicate and Dead By April (if you would even call it metal) it's a wonder the genre has some hold with trve metalheads. Early At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity and In Flames pretty much are the only ones that are really melodic death. The new Insomnium is pretty meh for the most part, bands like The Forsaken and Mors Principium Est are fairly good and Mercenary's Architect of Lies is pretty good power melodeath. Be'lakor is pretty nice too. Most melodeath bands today seem to use a lot of keyboard or electronic noise, which i like but it's not for everyone. Of course that's my opinion, other metalheads might have a different view on what should be melodeath.
