Kanagawa, Japan (2001 – 2001, 2006 – present)

kannivalism is a band from Kanagawa, Japan that started around May 2001 and disbanded once in June 2001 when vocalist 怜 (ryo) and guitarist 圭 (kei) joined バロック/baroque. At that time kannivalism also had members 8342 (bass) and 桐 (drums). They released their only single “逝ってキマス。” on July 29th, 2001.

In 2006 (after the disbandment of バロック/baroque) 怜 and 圭 revitalized kannivalism and 8342 joined the band once more with his new name, 裕地 (yuchi). On April 26, 2006 they released their 1st mini-album “奏功 humority” on their Free-will label “ism.”.

kannivalism was during the summer signed to avex, and released their debut major-single, “リトリ” on September 27th. Their 2nd single “ホシの夜” came on January 17th, 2007.

Later, on February 21st, they released their 1st full-length album “Nu age.”, in two editions. The album included many songs from their releases from 2006.

In the summer of 2007, May 9th, they released another single “small world”. This single was released in three types with various bonus material.

kannivalism released their 4th single “モノクローム” on November 21st 2007. This single was also released in three types.

kannivalism was planned to release their 2nd full-length album in March 2008, when 怜 suddenly falls into a deep depression and was hospitalized. All activites with the band was postponed.

In September 2008, while kannivalism still paused all activities and 怜 was recovering from his depression, guitarist announced he was starting a solo project. released his debut single “the primary.” on November 19th 2008. His 2nd single “vesperbell.” was out on January 14th 2009 followed by the debut album “silk tree.” on March 4th.
