exist†trace is an all-female visual kei band from Tokyo, Japan. They formed in 2003 with vocalist Jyou and bassist NAOTO. NAOTO's childhood friend, Mally, came in on drums, and for a while they were the band. After some more time, Miko was added as guitarist. Then they added Omi on guitar. So it was a long time, without a permanent first guitar - from start to finish it was three years total. The band's rock/metal music is dark and eerie, accented by Jyou's raw vocals.
The band's name means "a trace of existence," and the cross represents the burden of life.
Miko is the leader of the band.
