There are various bands/artists under the name Versailles:

1) A Japanese visual kei band

A Japanese metal band formed in 2007. Versailles’ key characteristics are their rococo-esque costumes, dueling guitar sounds and heavy but melodic arrangements. The concept is a formula of “absolute beauty and extreme aestheticism”. The duel guitars sound like rose vines grown riot over an agitated rhythm. Those sounds sketch the story of “The Descendants of the Rose”. In August 2008, the band had to change their name because of a trademark issue in the USA. Another artist there called themselves Versailles, and warned the band through their lawyer not to use the name in American territory. So the band added “Philharmonic Quintet” after the name Versailles. Versailles was formed by Kamijo (vocals), HIZAKI and TERU (guitars), Jasmine You (bass) and YUKI (drums). On August 9th, 2009, bassist Jasmine You suddenly passed away, only 30 years old. Due to this tragic event, the planned major debut on Warner Music Japan was delayed to January 2010. In September 2010, Versailles announced that their temporary support bassist Masashi (ex- ALPHA and Ash) will be the 6th member of the band, while Jasmine You will remain an “Eternal Member” of Versailles.

I don't think he is a bad singer. I just find that his performance in some songs can be weak. Almost everything will be perfect but the vocal performance is really lacking that emotion to really blow you away. Oh and Princess -Revival of Church- is the best ever, if I'm talking about Princess I almost always mean the Jubilee version.

i don't think kamijo is a bad vocalist but it seems as if he can't seem to find a comfortable range and stick with it... jubilee was probably his prime his voice wasn't so forced now it seems as if he's just pushing himself further and further and that he's started to drag down the band a little bit

That transition into the last chorus in Princess -Revival of Church- (from ~5:35) is just amazing.

Humm... I agree, Princess is one of their better songs about instrumental, but in my opinion it would not be so great without Kamijo's interpretation, in fact that is one of the things I love the most on the song. In my opinion he does add so much emotion to the song, just listen to Princess -Revival of Church- version, he does a lovely rendition.

Nope. I would lose faith in those genres when this rap-head sings over this glorious music. Should be Mike Patton.

If you don't want Kamijo singing, who do you want in his place? Lady Gaga? Rihanna? Katy Perry? Cee Lo Green? Rolf Harris? Crazy Frog?

They should do djent, still with Kamijo on vocals. Seven strings tuned to drop G#. I've said this before. sorry, it's just a FABULOUS idea.

Arithmetica, i dont know, i dont think any of their songs with vocals would suit a instrumental version. In most songs there is no melodic lead guitar, only boring rhythm guitar. Without vocals, that would get boring after 10 sec. If you want instrumental music, go check out bands that only do instrumentals and have a continues lead guitar in their songs.

I would love to have voiceless version of their music. Princess is my favorite but I hated it at first because I disliked Kamijo dragging down the song but it kinda sort grew on me. Would be better as an instrumental though.
