Uriah Heep is a British rock band, officially formed in 1969 in England, when record producer Gerry Bron invited keyboardist Ken Hensley (previously a member of The Gods and Toe Fat) to join Spice, a band signed to his own Bronze Records label.
Sometimes jokingly referred to as “The Beach Boys of heavy metal” for their melodic songs, and trademark multi-part harmony backing vocals, although their music draws on diverse influences including psychedelia, gothic sound, progressive rock, hard rock, early heavy metal, jazz, and even country on occasion.
Uriah Heep remains active with its lineup since 1986 until 2007. Then drummer Lee Kerslake was, due to health problems, replaced by Russell Gilbrook. The current lineup is: Mick Box (guitar, vocals), Trevor Bolder (bass, vocals), Phil Lanzon (keyboards, vocals), Bernie Shaw (lead vocals) and Russell Gilbrook (drums, vocals). Their latest album, titled Wake the Sleeper, was released in June 2nd 2008 on Universal records in CD format and limited edition 12” vinyl with gatefold sleeve.

They released new collection album "Celebration" recently. Although UH doesn't really lack collection albums this one seems a bit more interesting as all classics are new mixes if I understood correctly and there is two completely new songs which I checked on Spotify. Seemed to be ok and very Heepy, though not that good as songs in Wake the Sleeper IMO.
