I like what this almost is, but what it actually is, is crap. I'm sorry guys, but tune is there for a reason. Even my bloody valentine never went out like that...

    I think it's nice. It's not earth-shatteringly-amazing-I-think-my-brain-has-experienced-the-most-epic-orgasm-ever-that-makes-pigs'-half-hour-long-orgasms-look-pitiful-by-comparison, but it's nice.

It's not awful but it's still pretty bad. A lifeless retread.

Good lord this is awful. Possibly the most out-of-tune recording I have ever heard from a professional musician.

This is murder. I wonder why they bother covering it if they knew they cou;dn't do it justice, which is what FarCryss suggests they did. It is tuneless and dull.

Great cover. It's different and doesn't try to be something it knows it can't - a song equal to that of the original. Instead, The Wrens add their own take and put in a different style of emotion.

rem's version -- especially their live version -- will never cease to take my breath away. However, I like how the Wrens jump around, at times sounding almost empty and at times embuing this song with just as much, if not more, emotion than the original rem album version of this song. i think it just confuses b/c it's a little schizophrenic and inconsistent... but i think i'm digging it. and this from a self-declared REM fan AND a lover of the original... it is definitely in my top 100 songs easy. yes, rem did it first and probably did it better, but these guys have put out an intriguing cover that embues the song with a certain irony and anger it didnt have before... the sarcasm that is weakly deliverd in the rem version oozes out of this version. interesting. i'll be playing it a lot more.

R.E.M.'s version holds much more emotion, and is more naked in it's honesty - yeah totally agree- REM version as much as i'm not a fan - is better!

YEah! The wrens rock it! I'm not sure how this is less naked in its honesty. I feel like it comes out in the lyrics. The Wrens voices have that touch of longing to them.
