The Abattoir Murders was a metal band from Charleroi, Pennsylvania, who formed in late 2002. At the beginning the band was called The Robot Hum (band). Guitarists Matthew Hornfeck and Alex Drizos met Joshua Bakaitus of Charleroi, Pennsylvania through mutual friends. The three began practicing together in Bakaitus' basement experimenting with music along the lines of Saetia (band), Pittsburgh's The Ezekial (band), and The Locust (band).
