Italia - hee hee! The performance of The End of Radio at Touch And Go Records' 25th anniversary fest in 2006 in Chicago is my live music highlight in recent memory. Hating this man is an exercise in abject redundancy, IMHO.

even if all he did was two nuns and a pack mule, i'd think he was pretty awesome. however, the engineering on PJ Harvey's album Rid of Me is legendary to me.

Best Albini quote I've seen: "I don't give two splats of an old negro junkie's vomit for your politico-philosophical treatises, kiddies. I like noise. I like big-ass vicious noise that makes my head spin. I wanna feel it whipping through me like a fucking jolt. We're so dilapidated and crushed by our pathetic existence we need it like a fix."

In Utero is the most incendiary album of all time. Yes, the two best songs on the album, Heart-Shaped Box and All Apologies, were remixed by Scott Litt. Litt also made the bass and vocals more audible. Albini was disappointed that Nirvana decided to finish with another engineer, but he was satisfied with the final sound. Basically, everybody involved with the album is a genius. Steve Albini ups what the know is fuck.

Oh sickening_wreck, very apt name btw. To think that Nirvana is in anyway representative of Albini is ignorant. After Albini recorded the In Utero sessions, the band hired Scott Litt to undo the damage. But don't let facts get in the way of your "argument", dear.

the best artists are usually the ones that stay out of the mainstream/spotlight so just because lots of people don't come to this page and write on this wall doesn't mean shit. there are plenty of people who respect albini, especially artists/people in the industry. also, why do people visit artists pages to trash them??? have some class people! p.s. he is coming to my school in two weeks... i think that's pretty awesome!
