Raintime is a band from Pordenone, Italy, formed in 1999. Their style is a mixture of Progressive Metal and Extreme Metal genres such as Death and Black. They released “Tales from Sadness” in 2004 and “Flies & Lies” in 2007.

Yup, Flies & Lies is their best. A bit less frequent use of the keyboards plus a second vocalist and you have another The Hours That Remain :) But on the other hand I cant stop headbanging when I hear those guitars and keyboards playing together!

Flies & Lies is astonishing, not just for Raintime but for the whole genre. A brilliant mix of power and melodic death, doubt they will ever be able to make something like that again. Psychromatic is just modern metal with some power metal remnants here and there, not so noticeable though. How In Flames would sound if they took slightly another direction.
