Power Metal

Power Metal is a generally up-beat metal genre consisting of fast guitar hooks and catchy tunes, often associated with neo-classical metal and progressive metal, and occasionally glam metal. The first influences of power metal appeared in the late 70’s and early 80’s when Ronnie James Dio was singing in Rainbow, the Rainbow song Stargazer is often named as the first power metal song.
