Dallas, United States (2006 – present)

There are two artists that have used the name Memphis May Fire:
1) A rock band from Dallas, Texas.
2) A heavy metal band from Baltimore, Maryland.

Memphis May Fire is an American rock band currently based in Dallas, Texas. Since its formation, the band has released two EPs and four full-length albums, the latest being Unconditional which was released March 2014. Their music has been compared to Underoath and He Is Legend. The band formed in December 2006, but it was not until February 2007 that the group decided on the name Memphis May Fire having previously gone by O Captain, My Captain!

In early 2007, the band recorded and self-released an EP, and began creating a local following. Shortly thereafter, Memphis May Fire caught the attention of Josh Grabelle, the president of Trustkill Records. In September 2007 the band had officially signed to Trustkill, and their self-titled EP (Memphis May Fire)was reissued through the label in December 2007.

Memphis May Fire hoped to release their debut album by summer 2008, however, during the recording sessions for the album, lead singer Chase Ryan decided to leave the band. Chase explained that he felt that his priorities should be with his new born child, and not a band. Upon announcing his resignation, bass player Austin Radford also decided to part ways with the band shortly thereafter. He would be replaced by Cory Elder. Open auditions were held shortly after Chase’s departure, and he was eventually replaced by a new vocalist, Matty Mullins. By this time, Memphis May Fire had already recorded their instruments for the new album with producer Casey Bates and only needed Mullins to contribute his vocals.

I love this band a lot but it kinda bugs me how many Rise Record artists try to sound like them now.

I remember back in early 2000's i got a message from them "check out our song" as bands do, they must have advertised themselves well because when i got the youtube message from them they were Not signed and had like 1000 views

I can't imagine a better album to introduce people into this scene than The Hollow.

The Sinner is quite good but other songs aren't catchy at all.

To be honest this is a decent band. But these guys practically OWN their label, and there's so many more talented artists on Rise that deserve the attention they get.

The Hollow pretty much perfected the formula so many bands use. Everything since is hit or miss. Some good songs on the last two albums.

Their original EP is greatness. Still my favorite of the MMF albums. Sleepwalking is also very good, as is the Between the Lies EP. The Hollow is a pretty solid album, not super unique sounding. Challenger has a few good songs on it. Unconditional is pretty un-listenable in my opinion.

Well i prefer MMF from the EP to Challenger. Everything before and after just..... meh. But The Hollow is, for me, their best album

Sleepwalking was an amazing and uniqe album. They are total garbage now. Cont your blessing was a shit record. The rest of bmth discography is very good.

Poopydude13: The reason they don't play anything from Sleepwalking live is because the only members left from that album are 2 people: one of the guitarists and Matty. And have you ever heard of a subjective opinion? Well, now you have. Take notes, you probably need it. No right or wrong here. Get off the internet, troll.

Хоть и мэйнстрим пхк, но слушать можно, вот только последний альбом блеклый высер, по сравнению с предыдущими.
