This songs hits hard. The lyrics are really tough to hear An interesting version with an Iranian ghazal singer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z02vX-EOqK0 It's been such a long time And I was just a child then What will you say When you see my face? Time feels like it's flown away The days just pass and fade away What will you say When they take my place? It's funny now I just don't feel like a man What will you say When you see my face? My face. Mother dear, the world's gone cold No one cares about love anymore What will you say When you see my face? Father do you hear me? Do you know me? Do you even care? What will you say When they take my place? My heart can't take this anymore What will you say When you see my face? When you see my, See my face. I can feel your time crawling To a slow end I can feel my time crawling To a slow end.

Huh, I'm a bit ashamed to be worshipiong JB as my Elvis and thought this was a Nina Simone song. The strange thing is that he was the roadie for Glen Hansard in '91 when GH toured the US with The Commitments after the movie. Around 95 JB performs "What will you say" and in '96 GH and The Frames release the song Monument and I hear something very similar in the two songs. Go listen :)

The best version that vladsoriano told about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGyGDaOSixU - When I saw it for the first time I thought it was his best song, and yes, it made me tear up

The best version of this is actually Live at Glastonbury, '94 i think. It was that intense that when Jeff hit that flying Buckley note, it made me tear up... and then the crowd stood up to applaud him... dunno whether he was already known or not, but I urge everyone to find it. It used to be on YouTube...

shattered there isnt a studio version. if it sounds THIS amazing live.. IMAGINE what it would have been like recorded with Buckleys slick and polished touch... and an amazing mix behind it. **crys self to sleep..**

that's Alim Qasimov singing background on L'Olympia and that's probably one of my fave Jeff recordings
