It kinda reminds me of PJ Harvey's "Down by the Water"

Its alright i guess, But come on, They had a lot better songs on the self titled album that could have been released as a single. Songs such as Look Inside America, Movin' On, I'm Just A Killer, Country Sad Ballad Man, etc.

it's not really a Bowie reference more the entirety of the song with different lyrics and Coxon's guitar over the top

does anyone have a copy of the video version of the song? it's listed as the "road version" on the US version of the single, but all i can seem to find is the stupid Alan Moulder Road Version that came with the Singles box set a few years back. HELP A BROTHER OUT. signalmag.com

The guitar effect at the start is actually achieved through use of a tremolo pedal (or so I read in a guitar mag once). Apparently if you switch the pedal on and off quickly it creates the glitchy effect you hear on Grahams guitar.

I prefer the video (single?) version though (slightly faster, better guitar at the opening and better harmonies throughout)
