Everything since Skyforger has been passable to me, with a few exceptions. Under The Red Cloud, however, is phenomenal.

Why on Earth "Come The Spring" or "The Wind" aren't on the album, and "Enemy At The Gates" is (Does anyone remember this song even exists? I like the middle eastern influence and the cool keyboard solo, but that's it, the rest is completely forgettable), it's just beyond me.

@Umosay: I also think UTRC wasn't that heavy, it just had a lot of growls. Circle was much heavier and bleaker, but also slower and had little to no growling. Almost all of the UTRC songs are growl-focused, while almost all of the B-sides are clean-focused. I don't mind either but with a vocalist as good as Tomi, and songs as good as those it's just a crime to limit them to some rare North Korea-only releases or sth. As far as being part of the album - It doesn't matter if they're hard to get and nobody listens to them. In this album's case, it was the producer that favored a more metal approach and he was responsible for song selection. I get that he does his job according to prefferences, but by God, leaving out the best songs from the recording session simply because he'd rather have more growls on the album is just fucking dumb.

@Borreh: It's not just Amorphis... it's nearly every band. Epica's last album was a prime example. Sometimes has to do with who's noted as the 'main writer' as they get more of their songs on the album. I don't think UTRC was overly heavy so that's not really the reason, bonus tracks are really meant to be part of albums anyway. Only reason they're left off is because they have to be.
