Progressive Metal

Progressive metal (also known as “prog metal”) is a metal genre which combines heavy metal with progressive rock, resulting in odd time signatures, adventurous timbres and complex compositional structures. Technical proficiency is a large part of categorizing the genre apart from power metal, and plays a generally large part in progressive metal.
