Biography

Japan (2004 – present)

Alice Nine (previously known as アリス九號. and alice nine.) is a Japanese visual kei band consisting of five members: 将 (Shou) on vocals, ヒロト (Hiroto) on guitar, 虎 (Tora) on guitar and backing vocals, 沙我 (Saga) on bass and backing vocals, and Nao on drums.

Drummer Nao formed the band in 2004, recruiting vocalist Shou and guitarist Tora from the band ギブス which had just split up, and they were signed to the PS COMPANY indies label Indie-PSC. Their first single 「名前は、未だ無ひ。」 was released the same year. During their first year, they did small tours with other Japanese bands. Their first oneman tour was held in August 2005 in Japan. After a sold out gig in Tokyo the same year, Alice Nine became more popular in Japan, and went major on KING RECORDS under their current management PS COMPANY. In 2007 they were signed in Europe by CLJ Records.

Alice Nine have released four full albums, 絶景色 (2005), Alpha (2007), VANDALIZE (2009) and GEMINI (2011).

In May 2007, Alice Nine was performing their debut show in America, during the Jrock Revolution Festival at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. In December Alice Nine was doing their first performance ever in Europe. They were one of the five bands at J-ROCK INVASION EPISODE 1 festival in Cologne, Germany.

On June 2, 2009, a blog entry by vocalist Shou announced the changing of their name from アリス九號. and alice nine. to Alice Nine for media reasons. He explained that the Japanese transcription was beginning to lose its purpose as a means to “represent aesthetics” and that the English transcription was closest to the band’s original intention.

The staff could put the albums VANDALIZE, Alpha and 絶景色 (and also the older singles) in this page of Alice Nine.

I liked the PV of shooting star more than I liked the music. I thought the music would be more slow and sad... But still I liked it. I can't wait to hear Affection.

I don't really like Shooting Star...it felt so empty for some reason, like a lot of things were missing and that kind of made it boring imo. I hope Affection will be better.

ah shooting star is a bit of a hit and miss compared to shadowplay (!!!) and daybreak. it'll take a few more listens for it to grow on me.

Affection will be the b-side for the single. I think that's the song they wrote with the fans, right?

Agreeing with atsu-ko. Also really, are you sincerely thinking of reporting people for voting for certain images? Anyway, back on track: the band. I liked SHADOWPLAY (the song) a lot better than on a first listen. It's definitely a grower and I liked it a lot better than Niji no Yuki, good job Shou! I really really dig Scarlet too, excellent single!

And below in a orange box: Remember: "Abuse of the Last.fm image system may result in you being banned from uploading images or from the entire site – so, play nice and respect the rules!" So stop uploading Limited Editions or I report you to the staff.

It's not what single users want, follow the image/cover rules and it says clearly that "If this album has multiple artwork, check if there is a release date to disambiguate. If that throws up nothing, use your best judgement and upload the artwork with the larger print run (most recognisable, popular)." WITH THE LARGER PRINT RUN = Regular Edition.

Who the hell cares if it's limited or nor? The point is how it looks like. And those without band photo are ridiculous. [2] Well, luckily last fm is not about what a single user wants.

Well, I care and I don't want Limited Edition cover to pop up when I scrobble the songs. Also, Limited Edition covers should not be uploaded onto Last.fm, read the rules.
