12012 is a rock band formed in Osaka, Japan in 2003.

The band consist of Wataru Miyawaki (宮脇 渉) on vocals, Hiroaki Sakai (酒井 洋明) on guitar, Tomoyuki Enya (塩谷 朋之) on bass and Toru Kawauchi (川内 亨) on drums. Their second guitarist Yusuke Suga (須賀 勇介) left the band in 2010.

12012 has released a total of five full-length albums. “PLAY DOLLs” (2006), “DIAMOND” (2007), “mar maroon” (2009), “SEVEN” (2010) and “12012” (2012).

12012 started their activities in 2003 on the label UNDER CODE PRODUCTION. The band centers its work around the concept of “Madness inside a human”, and their lyricist Miyawaki is writing about madness, depression and melancholy. In 2007 they debuted on the Universal Music label NAYUTAWAVE RECORDS as a major band, and the direction was going towards the more mainstream rock with lighter lyrics and tunes. In 2011 they left the label NAYUTAWAVE RECORDS, and got signed to FIREWALL DIV. which also publishes the bands DIR EN GREY and MERRY.

In December 2011 they revealed that they’re releasing a new eponymous studio album “12012”. The release date was set to March 14, 2012. This is a new era of the band. After their second guitarist left the band, and their contract ending at NAYUTAWAVE RECORDS, the band are going back to their roots with aggressive tunes and explicit lyrics. A couple of days before the album release, the music video of the lead track “SUICIDE” was uploaded on their homepage in a censured version.
