When it comes to a comeback, Outside Lands put one together with just the right timing. The music festival made its post-lockdown return to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park over Halloween weekend where hoards of the 75,000 attendees per day arrived in high spirits, fully costumed. Whether you were in it for the stacked lineup, a reason to dress up, the diverse culinary experience or all of the above, the fest had something to offer for everyone.
Headliners this year consisted of Tyler, The Creator, The Strokes, Glass Animals, Lizzo, Vampire Weekend, ZHU, Tame Impala, J Balvin, Rüfüs Du Sol and Kehlani. But, as always, Outside Lands hosted an impressive range of acts—from fond favorites like Sharon van Etten and Andew McMahon in the Wilderness to invincible up-and-comers like Sofía Valdés to Claud.
Some notable performances from the festival included Tyler, The Creator's elaborate stage production (speedboat and all, in reference to 2021's Call Me If You Get Lost), Tame Impala dressed as The Wiggles, Andrew McMahon giving a young fan a first-concert experience to remember and Kehlani's first hometown set in a couple years.
