Thank you. This one is a little bit inspired by Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint, I tried to bring a similar alteration of tonality and a reverbed tremolo which makes resonate the guitar in the same way.

Hey Iaci, it's been a while since we talked. Sorry to bother you, I share my newest track on Soundcloud. I'll appreciate if you let me know what do you think about it.

Kayo Dot is maybe the most important discovery that i've made in recent times, honestly. I have to disagree on what you said about them, you're right at the beginning afterall. Their musical entity is utterly vast and full of enigma, their character is strongly original indeed. There are very few bands which can achieve their levels in those ways. Especially if we consider the actual rock/metal scene, where there are mainly wretched and squalid acts which repeat themselves infinitely. They're are a true rarity among many others. I'm speaking also as a musician who takes influence and not only as a listener. I understand that you are more into the electronic side of music, and you're quite adverse to the instrumental. Am i wrong?

You should absolutely listen to the new album of Vladislav Delay, "Visaton". Also check these two tracks on Spotify, always from him (spotify:album:4jYG9A5S3M4picm9sfobeC) They're outstanding.

The point is that guitar is a very inflated instrument, the most of all. Everything you play with it may sound cheesy or common, in almost every context. I cannot deny what you say. But what about groups like Kayo Dot, King Crimson, Maudlin of the Well, etc.? They are examples of how an enormous avant-garde approach can melt with extremely refined playing, also canonical, and without ruining anything, neither the atmosphere neither the quality of the compositions (especially in Kayo Dot). Technical skill doesn't mean necessarily to be pretentious, always depends how you use it. My thought is: more elements may bring more sensations, if well organized of course. A defined ambient/drone track can take you to a precise emotive journey, yes, while a song which combines elements of post-rock, jazz and chamber music can achieve several things, in addition to the atmosphere itself. If the musicians can go along different things all become unpredictable, and maybe more satisfying.

I think it depends on how you like or don't like the sound of an instrument. Each sound you hear in that track is generated by the guitar however, and the majority of those sounds are noises, feedbacks, low distortions and harmonics. When you're playing, especially during improvisation, you follow your own instinct, and that's what i've done in that track, adding the solo parts. I had to add some more catchy elements. I felt it was appropriate, and i think they don't ruin the atmosphere, but they're simply part of it. One of the principles of post-rock genre for example, is melting melodic notes with more harsh detailed sounds, it's about the same thing. Experimental music allows you to do everything you want, essentially. So, mixing unorthodox ways with some little canonical style of playing it's not a wrong thing.

I didn't know that ambient project, but Bohren & der Club of Gore are one of my favorite groups as you can see, surely they're an inspiration, yes. It's curious, because what you call "virtuoso" guitar, for me (and i say it again, for me) it's not virtuoso at all. Also, especially in this track i tried to sound technical in nothing, and i studied classical and jazz, so i know well what is technical. That's kinda basic improvisation, you know. Instead, someone says that the little solo parts are the particularity which resonates the most in this dark and dissonant soundscape. Anyway, thank you for listening and commenting.

Thank you, contrasts and lights are two of the things I take care the most, they're fundamental elements in photography. I make a lot of work on the digital manipulation too, I realize several picture through graphics process. Now, I'm viewing your images on Deviantart, they're awesome. Some of them could fit for an Autechre's artwork. I see you use also many glitches, do you?

I love that man, you should print it in huge resolution and stick it onto a wall, it would be immersive and dispersive. If you're interested, i made a new account on Flickr with my recent photographs, check it: https://www.flickr.com/photos/128346446@N07/. And let me know what you think, if you want.

The Apogee Duet and the Genelec speakers are high level stuff, nice. Mainly i use headphones for listening to music, they're the most accurate, detailed and intimate way to do it. I've used several headphones through the years, but now i'm definitely enjoying the Philips Fidelio X1, attached to the FiiO e12 dac amplifier. It's an outstanding open-dynamic piece for home listening. Nothing special about the audio implant, i use a 5.1 which surrounds me in the room, it's good, but it's more power and less quality.

I believe this is the way everyone should listen to music, the perception of it would be way more greater: http://i.imgur.com/L8rHlfc.jpg. Do you have some particular audio 'equipment'?

Did you hear this? It's a webcast they made the last year, they refreshed Bike with such a 'new' sound, it's beautiful. I'm searching for some other tracks like this. I believe Autechre should release a live album, it would be astonishing.

Nice collection first of all, I'm going to listen to the tracks that I don't know. Well, I think it will be a good analysis, certainly it's something difficult to succeed for every kind of genres out there, and in terms of 'objectivity' it's a great goal. But on the other side there are plenty of individual values that make everything different with each listening. Furthermore, there are factors unrelated to the music that are really important as well, like the optic and the contest in which that music is brought in. This especially for trying to have a precise 'perception' of what I listen to.

I'm reading that article "Defining the value of music", it's really interesting, and moreover it's accurate. Are there other pages about music from this site?

Have you heard the unreleased Caustic Window album that Richard James has dropped now? It's from 1994.

If you use Spotify, search "Dilankex EP" by Oberman Knocks, there's a mix made by Autechre that lasts 17 minutes. It's new, and it's devastatingly heavy.

It sounds like a spin off from Exai, but it's really great. Hope they'll drop something this year, also an ep is acceptable.

Yes, it seems so. Right in this moment I'm using one of the Adobe programs, all of their icons are made of two letters, the initials of the program. It would be great if Ae itself is a small reference to Autechre, but it's just an impression.

I often use After Effects, it's a nice program for making videos. By the way, nice electronic charts.

Habe Liar schon vor so sieben Jahren runtergeladen es aber nie wirklich durchgehört, es erschien mir etwas desorientiert, ist es echt so gut? Wäre gut mal wieder zu chatten.

[deleted-user] wrote: “This track isn't anti-religious/Christian as some people think. He's basically talking against hypocrites who claim to be righteous, but are actually very evil in heart and built "a god" in their own image.”…… I used to think the same, but there's a problem. The subjective is always "he", and at one line of the lyrics it says "atrocities done in his name". Evil religious actions weren't done "in the name of" a religious leader, but "at the behest" of the leader, and "in the name of" their self-reflected god. So the "he" might refer on God after all. I'm not English, so i may be wrong about the usage of this term. If someone can confirm this or clear this out for me, plz leave me a shout. --- Yes this is correct. :) YOUR god is dead ... and why should there be a hell if there is no spiritual truth in believing theres a heaven. Ich kann auch deutsch falls dir das lieber ist ... send me a message if you need to know more.
