Ethereal

Definition: “Pertaining to the hypothetical upper, purer air, or to the higher regions beyond the earth or beyond the atmosphere; celestial; otherworldly; as, ethereal space; ethereal regions.” The term “Ethereal” does not neatly apply itself to any sort of style or sound in music. Rather it is used in attempt to describe a sort of other-worldly, heavenly sort of beauty in music that is difficult to grasp. The music often sounds lush, hazy, spaced out, and distant.
