Biography

There are two artists sharing the name Vektor:

1) Refusing to be pigeon-holed into any metal sub-genre, Vektor employs an array of intricacy, virtuosity and a wholly unique sound that sets them clearly apart from the growing legions of color-by-numbers thrash bands. They released their debut full length Black Future in November 2009, and the follow up Outer Isolation in December 2011 (both on Heavy Artillery Records).

Conceived in 2004 by front man / guitarist David DiSanto and lead shredder Erik Nelson, Vektor quickly forged a formidable name for themselves amongst the Phoenix metal contingent for their unique mix of technical, speed thrash and progressive influences. Going against the grain of the Phoenix metal scene, Vektor created a wave of interest with their self released CD Demolition (2006) and the ferocious two track demo Hunger for Violence (2007). After four years of local and regional gigging opening for such national acts as TESTAMENT, HIRAX, ICED EARTH and MUNICPAL WASTE, Vektor hit the road for their first national tour alongside label mates EXMORTUS in support of Black Future in December 2009 through January 2010.

2) This Queretaro-based project started in 2002, when Adàn Cortès was 15 years old. His passion for jazz and IDM are brought together in this exciting project, also influenced by sound deconstruction, breakbeat and ambient, what makes vektor Spontaneous and surprising.

new album probably at the end of 2013, although unlikely. They said on their facebook page a while ago we should await a early/spring 2014 release.

One of the very few modern thrash bands worth a shit. Black Future is killer, though some of the tracks can be long and drag a bit.

@x_LocNar_x: You can buy both CD's separately at Earache's web store. £8.99 for each CD or £18.99 for a CD + t-shirt bundle (4 different shirts and 5 different sizes available). I paid only £3.50 in shipping for both CD's and a t-shirt to Norway (£31.48 total).
