Biography

The Distant Seconds are based in Austin, TX and consist of Matt Baab (guitar, vocals), Kirk Miles (bass), Charlie Ewing (drums), and Ben Meza (guitar / keyboards).

The band are featured on the Matador Records compilation "Casual Victim Pile" (released Jan. 2010) and the split 12" vinyl / iTunes EP "Consumed / Hot Buttered Anomie" (with Austin's Beautiful Supermachines) (also Jan. 2010, Chicken Ranch Records).

The band's debut album "Spectral Evidence" was released at the tail-end of 2008. Recorded and mixed by Matthew Barnhart (Shearwater, the New Year), the album received significant college radio airplay and made WOXY.com's Top 97 albums of 2009, in addition to number of other 2008 and 2009 year-end best-of lists.

The band are currently working on their second LP.
